Benevento Police Suspends the License of a Place That Serves Alcohol to Minors

Benevento Police Chief has ordered the license suspension of a venue serving food and drink along Corso Garibaldi in the city’s historic centre, resulting in its closure for ten days. The reason for the suspension was that approximately ten days ago, the police caught the employees of the commercial establishment in question serving alcoholic beverages to two young children without asking them to show identification. According to law enforcement, this behavior ‘represented an additional risk factor for security and public order in an area known to be frequented by many young people during the evening and night hours of the weekend and where recent violent incidents are known to have negative repercussions on public order’, safety and security .’ For this reason, police chiefs stated that it is necessary to intervene by taking preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the recurrence of risky situations in terms of public order and security, especially concerning young people.
