Thieves use SUV as battering ram to break into Windsor pharmacy

Police are searching for two burglary suspects who drove an SUV into a Windsor pharmacy over the weekend.

Officers arrived at the scene just before 4 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a break-in at a commercial business in the 500 block of Tecumseh Road East.

Police said two suspects used a sport utility vehicle as a battering ram, crashing into the store’s rear entrance and gaining access to the pharmacy.

Approximately $4,000 in electronics was stolen from the business, according to investigators.

The couple fled the scene in the same vehicle, described as a white Ford Escape with a sunroof and a sports equipment rack on top.

The first suspect is stated to be a man of medium height, wearing a black face mask, black jacket, black trousers, blue surgical gloves and a silver watch on his left wrist.

It was stated that the second suspect was a man of medium height, with a black mask, black baseball cap, black jacket, black trousers and black gloves.

He was carrying a black and yellow duffel bag.

A week ago, police caught a 40-year-old man in the middle of a commercial robbery on the city’s east side.

The incident happened just before 6 a.m. on Nov. 13 at a business in the 3100 block of Tecumseh Road East.

The suspect, who tried to escape on foot, was caught after a short chase. Stolen gift cards were recovered.

Damage occurred at the workplace due to broken glass.
