Las Vegas Police arrest Spring Mountain burglary suspect after lengthy investigation

Las Vegas Metro Police arrested Cedric Hasan, a serial burglary suspect, after a three-month investigation targeting 34 businesses. Spring Mountain corridor.

Surveillance footage from Nov. 19 captured the moment officers with the SWAT unit captured Hasan at his home near Farm Road and Aviary Way.

During the arrest, police officers gave the order: “Leave the door open. Stay there.”

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrest reportHasan was taken into custody by the North Las Vegas Police Department just 10 days before his arrest for robbing a tire store on November 19.

But Metro Police were not notified of Hasan’s previous arrest or release from jail, even though they had been searching for him since June.

Further investigation led Metro detectives to Hasan’s residence and workplace; here they discovered work tools and tools allegedly used in various thefts in the valley.

Businesses affected by the crime spree were notified of the arrest, and many expressed confidence that Hasan would eventually make a mistake.

“It was just a matter of time, you know?” said Colin Fukunaga. “Especially with the amount of shots and the MO. I think it can be determined by the demeanor rather than just the clothes and tidbits. It’s much easier to determine who could commit this type of crime.”

The investigation also revealed Hasan’s extensive criminal history, including his involvement in three separate burglary sprees in the valley and his arrest for burglarizing 20 businesses in 2016.

According to the statement of a witness in the arrest report, Hasan has a gambling addiction.

Hasan is accused of stealing more than $213,000 in cash.

His hearing is scheduled for December 9.
