BBC Sounds launches new podcast Diddy on Trial, which explores shocking allegations and conspiracies against the rapper

A brand new BBC Sounds podcast, launching today, will explore the shocking allegations and conspiracies surrounding one of hip-hop’s biggest names, Sean “Diddy” Combs.

For decades, Diddy ruled the music industry and earned his place in rap royalty. He is currently behind bars awaiting trial in a notorious prison in New York; He is charged with sex trafficking, transportation for the purpose of prostitution and racketeering conspiracy. He denies all allegations.

In Diddy on Trial, BBC correspondent Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty reveals the truth behind the headlines and looks at how these allegations have put hip hop and the wider music industry under scrutiny. The podcast will examine conspiracy theories that threaten to bring down Hollywood and rumors that the entertainment industry’s biggest names are complicit in exploitation. Anoushka will hear from alleged victims who say their stories reveal the dark underbelly beneath the glitz and glamor.

The internet is buzzing with wild rumors as the line between fact and fiction blurs. Each week, Anoushka will be joined by expert guests and insiders at the heart of the story. Together they will evaluate each line of investigation and question what is right and what is wrong.

“I grew up with Hip-Hop, and if you know Hip-Hop, you know P-Diddy,” says Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty. He wasn’t just a hitmaker or a talent scout; played a fundamental role in pushing music from the fringes of pop culture into the mainstream.

“When the allegations emerged, it was clear how big the incident could be. But it’s also fertile ground for rumors and conspiracies. I can’t wait to uncover the real thing. I know everyone has so many questions, so we’re here to investigate the rumors, confront the theories, and give you the answers you need. I want to hear from you so contact us and send us your thoughts.
