Woman detained for theft – Brighton and Hove News

The court arrested a woman at the company on suspicion of committing a series of thefts.

Sussex Police said: “A woman has been detained following a series of burglaries in Brighton and Hove.

“Between Saturday 12 October and Thursday 14 November four properties were burgled and unsuccessful attempts were made to gain access to a fifth.

“Following an investigation into the offences, Donna Molloy, 37, of no fixed address, was arrested on Monday (November 11) on suspicion of four burglaries in New Road, West Street, Market Street and Terminus Road.

“He has been released on bail while the necessary forensic tests and other investigations are carried out.

“On Thursday 14 November a report was made to police that someone was attempting to access a property in the Brunswick Square area of ​​Hove.

“Molloy was arrested five days later on Tuesday, November 19, on suspicion of attempted robbery.

“He was charged in the early hours of Wednesday, November 20 and appeared in court later the same day.

“At Brighton Magistrates Court Molloy was remanded in custody ahead of his next hearing on Wednesday 18 December.”

Detective Constable James Botting said: “Theft can have a profound and lasting impact on victims, robbing them not only of their belongings but also of their sense of safety and security.

“We treat these reports extremely seriously and are committed to conducting thorough investigations into all incidents.”
