LET’S TALK | OPINION: Credit tracking notifications, alerts trigger panic mode

They say we shouldn’t stick our noses into other people’s business. Hey, I’m having trouble with this, especially at my age, when doing my own business takes up enough of my time.

In fact, sometimes I prefer not to know my own business.

This sometimes comes to mind when it comes to identity protection and credit monitoring companies (including credit bureaus) whose services are so necessary today. Almost every day a new way emerges in which scammers, hackers, and identity thieves try to enrich themselves at our expense. This has forced us all to be like the paranoid character in an action/thriller/horror movie who has six different locks on the apartment door to keep out intruders who sometimes get in anyway.
