Road Rage Turns into Stabbing and Stone-Throwing in UP, 2 Policemen Injured

As the news spread, a crowd gathered in front of the health center and people started throwing stones.

A man returning home on his bike in Uttar Pradesh collided with another motorist at an intersection, leading to an argument and a large fight that ended in a stabbing, police said.

The incident, which took place late on Friday night, was reported from Ghosi in Mau town, about 300 kilometers from the state capital Lucknow.

The vehicle of Sukhu Rajbhar, who was cycling with his wife and child, hit Shoaib’s bicycle while turning. The argument turned into a knife fight.

“He did not use the indicator as he appeared in a hurry. When I told him to use the indicator, he hurled abuse at me. I also abused him. Then a fight broke out. He hit me either with a key or a knife. Shoaib, the man Rajbhar hit, said, “I also hit him, I was alone.”

Rajbhar’s family experienced a different version of the incident.

“When he returned from shopping and entered the road near his house, he (Rajbhar) was surrounded by bikes from both sides. They harassed him and stabbed him with knives after he protested,” said a relative of Rajbhar.

Police teams arrived at the scene and took the two people to the health center.

Mau Police Deputy Superintendent Mahesh Singh Attri said, “Two bikes collided with each other. After the collision, an argument started. People on both sides were injured. They were taken to hospital.”

As the news spread, a crowd gathered in front of the health center and people started throwing stones. The police, dressed in full equipment, did their best to control the situation. 2 police officers were injured in the incident.

“A few people threw stones there too. When they were removed from the scene, a few of them blocked the road… We talked to people, they said they cleared the road. Necessary action will be taken upon complaint. …Round Officer Ghosi and the Station Building Officer were injured in the stone rain, 2-3 vehicles were damaged. ” said the senior police officer.
