Cape Girardeau man faces charges after puppies found dead in bedroom

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – A man is facing charges after police found two puppies dead in his bedroom.

Euseke Rodgers was arrested on three misdemeanor animal abuse charges.

His bond was set at $5,000 and was posted Friday, Nov. 15, according to online court records.

His first hearing is scheduled for Monday, November 18.

According to court documents, officers executed a search warrant at Rodgers’ home on Tuesday, Nov. 12. That’s when they found the bodies of two puppies that appeared to be “buried in the ground.”

Police said they also found large amounts of feces in two wire shacks in the dining room.

While speaking with Rodgers, police said Rodgers once said he had puppies in his bedroom and claimed one of the dogs killed them.

There was another dog in the home, who was still alive but appeared weak and malnourished, according to police.
