‘I would date him for his voice’

Cher’s celebrity relationships are almost as iconic as her career in the entertainment industry, and both topics are covered extensively. Her newly released book is “Cher: The Memoir, Part One.” But there is one man she could take a chance on, could, should, and wouldn’t risk.

While chatting about his new book friend and former NBC News correspondent Harry Smith At Temple Emanu-El in New York City on November 20, Cher answered Smith’s question about going there “just for fun.”

Smith began: “Are there men in your life?” began Smith, “has there ever been a man, and this isn’t in the book – this is just for fun – a man you said, ‘I wish you would, you could, you should have,’ and ‘?”

The crowd ooohed and the singer responded, “Michael McDonald.”

Cher says she admires McDonald and her voice.

“I would date him for his voice,” he continued. “I would love it if he sang to me.”

Cher he also recalled that the Doobie Brothers musician once went on the road with him and sang background vocals just so he could be on the same stage with him.

“Why do you think guys always fall in love with you?” Smith asked.

“How could you not know?” said one of the spectators.

“Look at him!” another screamed.

Cher was married to Sonny Bono until the two divorced in 1975, and she married Gregg Allman days after her first divorce was finalized. They both had their share of problems, including Allman’s struggle with addiction, and they divorced a few years after their wedding. She also dated music executive David Geffen and Kiss rocker Gene Simmons. He reflects on all relationships in his memoirs.

More recently he has been associated with music manager Alexander “AE” Edwards.

In response to Smith’s question, Cher was a little shy.

“Do I have to say all this? It seems—” she began, “because I’m a really good girlfriend and I’ve learned how to do that.”

The 78-year-old actress also described herself as “really funny” and “sweet.”

“I’m monogamous,” he added. “And I know that if I look at a man when I’m with my boyfriend, it’s all over because I don’t look at men. I don’t see men. If I’m with someone I love, the moment I see a boy I’m like, ‘Okay, bye!’ I say. But no, I’m a really good girlfriend.

Cher and Sonny Bono quickly rose to fame on variety shows, but according to Cher, all was not always well in their relationship behind the scenes.

This habit is one that was instilled in Cher at an early age, as detailed in her memoirs, where she repeatedly wrote that Bono did not allow her to interact with other men. She recalled once burning her tennis clothes after learning from a friend that she had gone to a party after a tennis lesson and was seen talking to some men.

“I was so angry about this,” Cher said as she told the story to Smith.

Cher, struggling with the decision to leave Bono I called her friend Lucille BallShe divorced her famous husband and television partner Desi Arnaz in exchange for advice.

“I told her, ‘Lucy, I want to break up with Sonny, and you’re the only person I know who’s in the same situation,’ Cher wrote in her book. What should I do?'”

The singer said Ball responded, “F— him, you’re the talented one.”

Cher also shared another fun tidbit with fans during her book talk about Ball.

“I still want to tell you something really embarrassing,” the “Believe” singer told Smith.

He explained that he did not know his address or phone number because he has dyslexia.

“If people want to find me, they will,” he said.

“I have a mobile phone. If I want to know what my phone number is, I just click on ‘Lucille Ball’. “That’s my name,” he explained.

“It’s not in the book,” Smith said. “That’s a good thing.”
