AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) – A 27-year-old Akron man will be sentenced Monday morning in Summit County Common Pleas Court for fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend’s mother.

RELATING TO: Akron man convicted of shooting to death ex-girlfriend’s mother in 2022

In September, court officials said Antonio Miller was found guilty in the 2022 death of 50-year-old Tina Case.

The charges include aggravated murder, two counts of murder and aggravated assault, all of which involve gun specification, according to court records.

Miller pled not guilty in October 2022 and his bail was set at $1 million.

Akron police and the U.S. Marshals arrested Antonio Miller on Sept. 16, 2022, at a home in the 500 block of Rosyln Ave.

Case was shot multiple times while inside his vehicle on April 7, 2022, around 10:35 p.m.

Miller had been dating Case’s daughter before the shooting, but the two broke up after a five-year on-and-off relationship, court officials said.

Tina’s daughter, Danielle Case, told 19 News she believes her mother was not the intended target.

Danielle said she had been with Miller for years and broke up with him three days before the murder. He also added that Miller was “struggling” with the breakup.

“It’s very difficult and difficult to talk about, but we got justice and I can’t wait for the hearing,” Danielle said.
