WR Chris Moore is the latest to earn the honor of training with Pat Tillman

It’s been a rough week for Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Chris Moore, with Zay Jones taking the field. reinstated Following a five-game suspension on October 7.

Two days later, Moore’s contract was terminated, although his locker had not been destroyed, creating the impression that he would return. This happened on October 11, when he joined the practice squad.

Just over 21 days into this week’s practices in preparation for the Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears, Moore wore jersey No. 40 as Pat Tillman’s scout team player during practice for last week’s game against Miami. Dolphins.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon said: “He’s a fellow pro. He brings so much to his profession and we feel really comfortable with his role increasing on a dime. “He can do this for us, I’m so happy he’s here.”

Asked how difficult the few days of uncertainty were, Moore told Cards Wire: “I’m a professional. I come to work; This is how I provide for my family and take care of them, so whatever they want me to do, whatever they want me to do, I’ll do it. “Absolutely, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to be in the squad and play every week, but that’s my role right now and I’m going to do my best to provide them with what they need.”

What they needed last week were receivers to emulate Dolphins standouts Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in practice. Moore wore Waddle’s number 17 jersey, while practice squad player Andre Baccellia also wore Tillman won the award In Week 3, Hill’s wore number 10.

Stating that Baccellia “is faster than me, so he is Tyreek’s man,” Moore said that what he does every week “adds a lot of value.” It helps the defense see what they’re about to see, especially when you try to use those players’ strengths. For example, Waddle is a fast guy and he’s fast, so last week I was trying to show the defense that with his speed and how he gets off the ball and gets into his routes.”

Security Budda Baker explained how important this is.

He said: “The way we prepare is very important, just understanding that, for example, if a route is going to be 12 to 15 yards, don’t shorten it to try to open it up or put it on yourself. We always talk about the team for you, so it’s within the scout team’s remit to It is absolutely crucial for us to understand having the ability to do all the right things.

“It makes us better and it also allows us to see before the game so when the play happens we understand what this route concept is or what these routes are and they run full depth on plays. So, in practice, they need to be worked on in this regard as well. He does a great job every week, as do a lot of our buyers, and I want to say this: We work at work, so they do a great job.

“Given the stories that have been told about him being a seventh-round pick and his work ethic on and off the field, it is certainly an honor and a privilege,” Moore said of wearing Tillman’s number this week. It is an honor for the team to recognize me and my work.

“I was familiar with his name because his story is so special, but I didn’t know much about him until I walked into the building and you saw the memorial there for him and you can see how great he really was. ”

The motivation of those vying for the Tillman honor is evident in the locker room each week.

“It’s something special, and they get to know you,” Moore concluded. “Everybody’s saying, ‘I wonder who’s going to buy it this week?’, so it’s definitely being talked about.”
