A case of theft in Gopal Pura village, Moth Police Station, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh is currently dominating the headlines. According to Local 18 Uttar Pradesh, two thieves stole a jhalar (a long thin strip of colorful fabric mostly used for decoration in India), lights and cash worth Rs 20,000. Thieves stole these items from more than a dozen homes. Due to these incidents of theft, there was turmoil in the entire village of Gopal Pura. Gopal Pura native Narendra Kumar said he kept Rs 20,000 to buy the car. According to him, thieves took this money. He said they also stole jhas and bulbs installed in many houses. They also peeled peanuts that were placed on a tractor trolley in front of a house. Narendra Kumar said that the robbers hid these peanuts in a sack and took them away.

According to Narendra Kumar, the thief identified as Rajan is just a local of their village. Narendra Kumar said that after the theft, Rajan tried to break the CCTV camera. The name of the other robber is not publicly available.

This robbery committed by thieves was reflected on the security camera installed in the village. In the latest update, locals of Gopal Pura caught one of the thieves involved in the crime. The captured robber covered his ears and publicly apologized for his behavior. However, before the police came to the village, the thief managed to deceive the people and escape. The victims submitted a complaint letter to the police requesting action regarding the incident. Moth Police Station Circle Officer Harimohan Singh said that a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint and the search for the accused is on.

The CCTV camera was in good working order and hence locals were able to identify the thief by looking at it. However, although he was caught by the public, it is not clear how the robber Rajan managed to escape. In addition to this case, many other cases of theft have also been reported from Jhansi.
