A large-scale fire broke out in a residence Taumarunui It was taken under control by fire brigades.

New Zealand Fire and Emergency shift manager Murray Dunbar said fire crews were called to a fire at a residential unit on Taumarunui Street at around 11.14am on Monday.

“We were well taken care of upon arrival.

“No one was injured and I don’t even think anyone was home.”

Fire crews from Taumarunui and Manunui attended.
