One-year-old boy found dead in car after relative forgot to drop him off at nursery

1-year-old child found dead in vehicle Florida A relative who was attending secondary school allegedly forgot to take his child to daycare.

Sumter County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to South Sumter Middle School around 4:20 p.m. Friday, where they found the 15-month-old baby dead inside the car. according to a press release.

The investigation revealed that the baby was accidentally left in the car by a family member.

This unidentified family member was supposed to drop the baby off at daycare on Friday, but forgot and went to the middle school.

Hours later, the child was found dead in the car.

The investigation continues in coordination with the Forensic Medicine Institute and the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. No charges have been filed so far and the relative has not been named.

“This is a tragic situation and our hearts go out to the child’s family,” the sheriff’s office said.

It is unclear why the relative was at the school or his relationship with the victim. No names were disclosed in the case.
