Arcane creators explain the “dangerous” reason Season 2 is the last

It may be sad to see Arcane end with Season 2, but creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee explained why it was the right decision and that continuing it would be “dangerous.”

first episode league of legends The series has been critically and commercially acclaimed, so it’s understandable that this news would happen. Arcane Season 2 Being the last episode, it was met with mixed feelings.

Luckily, there are nine new episodes to look forward to that will complete the story of estranged sisters Vi and Jinx and the burgeoning war between Piltover and Zaun.

As Linke explains, “This was never an open concept. It was always like, ‘Hey, there’s a story to tell.’ Especially for Vi and Jinx and Jayce and Viktor, the character relationships we have in mind have a beginning and an end.

“Not really the plot – well, some of it – but there was actually something specific here that I wanted to explore and say with this story. “That’s what we set out to do.”

“I think it’s also dangerous to stretch something and keep it going forever,” he continued. Yee explained that even creating the second season was “difficult”. Mysterious.

“We knew where we wanted to go with the story, but… you need the ambitions of your characters in the first season to really culminate in something that will take its own new angle in the second season,” he said.

“It’s always about change. “I think a lot of shows start to unravel when they go on too long because you can only make big changes so many times before it starts to feel limp and unfocused.”

“The other thing is that this comes from League of Legends, where there are a lot of champions and a lot of other regions,” Yee added.

“Our main goal was always to bring that world to life, and I think seeing more aspects of it and getting more players to see their favorite parts was something that motivated us as well.”

So Season 2 may be the end of this particular story, but it’s just the beginning of what’s to come.
