Delphi murder suspect found guilty of brutally murdering two teenage girls | US News

Delphi murders suspect Richard Allen showed no emotion as he was found guilty of all four charges in the killings of two teenage girls.

Allen, 52, sat emotionless as the jury heard its verdict Monday afternoon after deliberating for 19 hours over several days. WTHR.

It took jurors less than two minutes to enter the Carroll County Courthouse and read the verdict.

Allen looked open-mouthed, ‘Are you okay?’ He allegedly said to his wife Kathy, who was in the courtroom. Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, cheers erupted from the crowd on the sidewalk outside the Indiana courthouse.

Allen was indicted There were two counts of murder and two felony murder charges in the 2017 deaths of 14-year-old Liberty German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams in Delphi, Indiana.

The bodies of two young girls were found with their throats slit near a path in Delphi.

This remained an unsolved case until Allen was arrested in October 2022.

The high-profile trial took place over three weeks. The 12-person jury listened to 17 days of testimony and began deliberating on Thursday afternoon.

In his closing argument, Carroll County Prosecutor Nick McLeland referenced a video on Libby’s cell phone showing a man walking on the Monon High Bridge Trail.

‘I believe the evidence is absolutely convincing that Richard Allen was the ‘Bridge Guy’ and that he killed Abby and Libby,’ LeLand told jurors.

Allen faces up to 130 years in prison and is scheduled for sentencing on December 20.

Allen’s lawyers left the courthouse without making any public statement.
