A new Helldivers 2 bug has added a new way to troll players in Arrowhead’s awesome multiplayer game. With more than 15 million players scouring planets to fight for Super Earth’s galactic democracy, some have found a new way to fool their fellow soldiers.

Helldivers 2 chat troll

In a recent update to the game, players discovered a new way to troll their teammates via in-game chat. Arrowhead accidentally made this so that players could use HTML codes in in-game chat and customize the appearance of their messages.

Thanks to this feature, some smart players sent messages that resemble in-game notifications to public chats. Players used this system to trick other players into thinking that the long-derided Illuminate faction had come into the game with “(PLAYER) discovered the Illuminate Outpost” and other similar messages.

Some players were tricked into believing The Illuminate was in the game by using HTML code that disguised chat messages as official in-game notifications. During lots of mission leaks And Even Steam updates were made fun of With their arrival, there is currently no date for the new faction in the game.

Aside from players trolling with Illuminate messages, others have also taken cruder measures in-game. One player as shown redditused the new chat troll to make the game say in the game’s in-game chats: “Torin2665: Discovered Big Booty O**ches”.

Should Arrowhead fix this?

While the new HTML vulnerability allows players to easily trick others in Helldivers 2 matches, players wanted Arrowhead to leave this trick in the game.

“Arrowhead, I’m begging you please don’t remove this random feature,” one player shouted.

However, in case of full access to HTML codes, there are potential exploits that can cause major problems in multiplayer games. Although players have not yet come to terms with this, there is a possibility that some HTML code entered in the public chat could break the game, cause crashes, and more. With this in mind, it is likely that Arrowhead will rectify this situation in the near future.
