BREAKING NEWS: Man facing fatal hit-and-run charges in Limerick city to appear in court

A man questioned by gardai following a fatal hit-and-run in Limerick city earlier this week has been charged and will appear in court.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on Tuesday evening, hours after the crash on Ennis Road between Sarsfield Bridge and Union Cross.

Investigating gardaí confirmed that a maroon Ford Focus car, which was not at the scene, was recovered and inquiries are continuing.

In an update posted this Wednesday night, they confirmed that the arrested man has been charged.

“The man in his 30s has been charged as part of the investigation into a fatal hit-and-run road traffic crash in Limerick city on Tuesday 26 November 2024. He will appear before Limerick District Court tomorrow. Thursday morning 28 November 2024,” read a brief statement confirming the development.

Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward and any road users who were traveling in the area at the time of the collision and may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
