Harker Heights Police identified the victim of a gunshot wound, stating that the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) – The Harker Heights Police Department has identified the man killed by a gunshot wound on November 17 as Christopher Serres, 70, of Harker Heights.

Police also identified the suspect as 56-year-old Helmut Holder, who was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Wood County.

On Nov. 17 at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Jason Dr. regarding a call for service.

Police arrived at the scene and found Serres with a gunshot wound. Serres died at the scene at 15.29.

Holder was later found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound by the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in Wood County, Texas, deputies said.

Police said there is no threat to the community related to this incident.
