NHAI tells HC that the state may provide 124 kilometers of roads by December 15

Chandigarh: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) informed the Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday that the total length of land required to complete its projects in Punjab is 1,344 km, of which 1,191.86 km is in its possession as of November 25.
NHAI stated that the 20.19 km line was blocked due to ongoing arbitration proceedings and the 2.75 km line was blocked due to the decision of the Supreme Court and the high court. In this regard, a detailed statement was submitted to the HC by NHAI’s regional officer Vipnesh Sharma through senior advocate Chetan Mittal.
Clarifying what needs to be done by NHAI, the high court was informed that NHAI will be submitted with the competent authorities in cases where possession is obstructed due to pending section 3A and 3D notifications. land acquisition We are making every possible effort to publish the communiqués in question as a mobilization. NHAI added that the 123.65 km long land is unencumbered and the possession of this land can be handed over to NHAI by the Punjab government on or before December 15.
For the 20.19 km long land, possession was blocked due to pendency of arbitration cases before the arbitrators-divisional commissioners in Jalandhar, Ferozepur and Patiala. NHAI prayed that appropriate instructions be issued to the said arbitrators to decide the cases expeditiously.
